LRC Vision, Mission, Philosophy, and Objectives

VISION

The Learning Resource Center will provide excellence in resources and services where healthy and responsible habits of lifelong learning and lifelong reading are practiced and strengthened.

MISSION

The mission of the Learning Resource Center program is threefold:
  • to support the learning of students of the Divine Light Academy of Las Piñas City
  • to provide a learning environment for students, teachers and administrators that include access to current, adequate, an appropriate information resources; and
  • to ensure that they are effective users of information in the course of acquiring knowledge.

PHILOSOPHY

The Learning Resource Center supports the school's philosophy of instilling in students a lifelong love of learning and believes that the students who is information literate
  • accesses information efficiently and effectively,
  • evaluates information critically and competently, and
  • uses information creatively

OBJECTIVES
  • Provide materials that will enrich and support the curriculum, taking into consideration the varied interests, abilities, learning needs, learning styles and maturity levels of the students served;
  • Provide materials for each teacher and student that will encourage growth in knowledge, and that will help to develop literacy, cultural and aesthetic appreciation and ethical standards;
  • Provide materials which reflect the ideas and beliefs of religious, social, political, historical and cultural groups and their contribution to the local, national and world heritages and cultures, thereby enabling students to develop intellectual integrity in forming judgments.
  • Provide electronic formats as well as print materials to support student learning needs.
  • Place principle above personal opinion and reason above prejudice in selection of materials of the highest quality in order to ensure a comprehensive collection appropriate to the users of the Learning Resource Center.
