The Demigod Diaries is a collection of four new short stories with character interviews, illustrations of Annabeth Chase, Percy Jackson, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez and a first ever seen picture of Thalia Grace (it also contains a picture of Hal who is a new character in the first story), puzzles, and a quiz relating to The Heroes of Olympus series from the Olympian Demigod books by the #1 New York Times bestselling author Rick Riordan.
It has debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list.
The four new short stories included are:
1. The Diary of Luke Castellan
This is a prequel to The Lightning Thief, told from Luke's point of view, in the days when he adventured with Annabeth and Thalia. Several questions that fans have asked over the years will be answered in this story.
2. Percy Jackson and the Staff of Hermes
A first-person narrative from Percy's viewpoint as he and Annabeth complete a task given by Hermes regarding his staff which happens a month after the end of The Last Olympian and before Percy went missing in The Lost Hero
3. Leo Valdez and the Quest for Buford
A story set at Camp Half-Blood during the time between The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune, from Leo's point of view, with Piper and Jason guest-starring. The trio has only a few hours to stop an explosion that could level Camp Half-Blood. Just another normal day at camp!
4. Son of Magic
Riordan's own son Haley's writing debut, and his take on the world of Percy Jackson, which he inspired. You'll meet a demigod son of Hecate who fought with Kronos in the Battle of Manhattan, and learn what he's up to after the war. What would it be like to be an outcast demigod? What sort of powers would a son of Hecate control? You'll find out!
