(DLA Las Piñas GS LRC) Film Showing of the Week - The Lion King 3

The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata (also known as The Lion King 1½ in the United States) is a direct-to-video part prequel/part parallel (or "in-between-quel" according to the film's teaser trailer), following two comical best-friends-turned-loyal-sidekicks and their involvement surrounding the original favorite. It is the third and final installment in the Lion King trilogy.

This movie is highly suspected to be inspired by Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, a play that created a humorous backstory for two minor characters from Hamlet since the original was partially based on the Shakespearean masterpiece.

The clever and snappy retelling focuses on Timon and Pumbaa before they met the Simba  and how the young lion lived with them.

They are shown watching the first movie and are being shown in silhouette while commenting on it, stopping and rewinding it at one point so they can show their side while occasionally stopping the footage to talk with each other.

The meerkat and the warthog's backstories gets narrated throughout the equally entertaining and thoroughly amusing colorful cartoon shenanigans, letting us see everything that happened in another enchanting perspective. Drop by on exactly 4:00 P.M. this coming Friday at the Learning Resource Center!
